AlgU consensus was used to search the P.aeruginosa PAO1 genome for AlgU-dependent genes. Transcription start sites of these genes were identified by primer extension analysis. Comparison of the expression levels in the wild type and algU mutant strains confirmed the AlgU-dependent expression.
