Experimental Process

Beta-gal assay in wild-type and rsaL mutant strains demonstrated increased transcriptional activity of lasI in the absence of RsaL. The RsaL binding site had been identified in a previous experiment via DNase I footprinting, and was further verified in the present study by site-directed mutagenesis. EMSA of the mutated sites identified the minimum site for RsaL binding in the P. aerugionosa PAO1 strain.

Gene Regulation

Regulated genes for each binding site are displayed below. Gene regulation diagrams show binding sites, positively-regulated genes, negatively-regulated genes, both positively and negatively regulated genes, genes with unspecified type of regulation. For each indvidual site, experimental techniques used to determine the site are also given.
