Experimental Process

Site-directed mutagenesis of this site, in conjunction with GFP reporter assays validated the specificity of PcaQ binding, and the activation of pcaM by PcaQ. Beta-gal assays and GFP assays both verified this activation of pcaM. EMSA confirmed PcaQ binding to the pcaM promoter region.

Gene Regulation

Regulated genes for each binding site are displayed below. Gene regulation diagrams show binding sites, positively-regulated genes, negatively-regulated genes, both positively and negatively regulated genes, genes with unspecified type of regulation. For each indvidual site, experimental techniques used to determine the site are also given.
