Experimental Process

Promoter-lacZ fusion assays showed DNR-mediated expression regulation under anaerobic conditions and in the presence of 10 μM NO. A canonical FNR recognition motif was identified in the nor promoter region. Specific DNR-FNR box interaction was shown by site-directed mutagenesis with lacZ reporter assays.

Gene Regulation

Regulated genes for each binding site are displayed below. Gene regulation diagrams show binding sites, positively-regulated genes, negatively-regulated genes, both positively and negatively regulated genes, genes with unspecified type of regulation. For each indvidual site, experimental techniques used to determine the site are also given.
