Experimental Process

PerR-regulated genes were identified by searching the B. subtilis genome for the presence of sites resembling the binding consensus for the PerR regulatory proteins. zosA-lacZ reporter fusion validated that PerR regulates zosA expression. DNase I footprinting confirmed binding of PerR to its target promoter.

Gene Regulation

Regulated genes for each binding site are displayed below. Gene regulation diagrams show binding sites, positively-regulated genes, negatively-regulated genes, both positively and negatively regulated genes, genes with unspecified type of regulation. For each indvidual site, experimental techniques used to determine the site are also given.
