Experimental Process

Site identified by EMSA and DNAse footprint with crude extract on gltA promoter. Site has nice dyad symmetry. Site function verified by beta-gal assays coupled with directed mutagenesis. Protein identified by systematic EMSA of putative repressors encoded in G. sulfurreducens on the gltA promoter.
