Experimental Process

DNAse footprinting and a site directed mutagenesis assay were used to locate two binding sites. A beta-gal assay was used to confirm expression.

The paper reports that TF forms complex with other proteins for binding with reported sites.

FleQ is bound to FleN, which allows activation in the presence of c-di-GMP. In its absence, FleQ operates as a repressor.

Gene Regulation

Regulated genes for each binding site are displayed below. Gene regulation diagrams show binding sites, positively-regulated genes, negatively-regulated genes, both positively and negatively regulated genes, genes with unspecified type of regulation. For each indvidual site, experimental techniques used to determine the site are also given.
