Experimental Process

DNA microarray analysis was done to identify genes regulated by Zur. EMSA confirmed binding of the purified Zur protein with its target operons. Putative Zur binding sites were identified by DNAse I footprinting. LacZ reporter assays confirmed that Zur regulated the expression of the target genes.

Gene Regulation

Regulated genes for each binding site are displayed below. Gene regulation diagrams show binding sites, positively-regulated genes, negatively-regulated genes, both positively and negatively regulated genes, genes with unspecified type of regulation. For each indvidual site, experimental techniques used to determine the site are also given.
